Diesel Engines

The Institute predominantly works at compression ignition engines of trucks and tractors.

Primary areas of research are:

  • Dynamics and fatigue of crank mechanism
  • Dynamic dampers of the torsional oscillations which make use of damping elements on the rubber and silicone oil basis
  • Dynamics and fatigue of valve trains
  • Dynamics of valve train’s gear-drive
  • Engine testing
  • Shape optimization of parts of a compression ignition engine
  • Lowering vibrations and noise of compression ignition engines
  • Thermodynamics of combustion process in compression ignition engines

The Institute cooperates with leading manufacturers and mainly with manufacturers in the field of heavy-duty trucks and tractors.

Sub-pages:

Diesel Engine Research Introduction
