ATOS 3D Scanner  

ATOS system is a portable non-contact optical 3D scanner for measurements of accurate 3D coordinates of points and shapes of an object. ATOS is commonly used for measurements of real objects that are to be compared with a theoretical model. The measurement process is based on the principles of optical triangulation, photogrammetry and fringe projection. Light fringes are projected on the object’s surface and scanned by two cameras with CCD chips. Automatic integration and matching of individual scans is done by reference targets placed on the object or outside the object.

ATOS consists of the following components:

  • Sensor head with two CCD cameras and a light source (projector) with variable grid;
  • Reference points to connect individual scans of the measured object;
  • Powerful PC with application software that analyses and evaluates the measured data.
